Time to Start Blogging Again!!

Between the move, trying to get settled in and getting Flip signed up for school I have not been blogging much lately. We are now settled and I am going to do better. We are now in Gulfport, MS. We are liking it here much better than we did in Charlotte! Its been great. We are back with Southern people again and the best part, we are only a mile and a half from the beach!! We also added a new addition to the family. A miniature schnauzer puppy named Jax! He is 6 weeks old and looks a lot like Alex. We are very excited about him! I promise to get pictures up soon of Flip and his new buddy!!

I wanna go with you.....

OK guys, tell me. Does this sound like Flip wants to be part of my pain? Does he like to see his Mom go through the thing that he hates most? I found this very funny. It makes me wonder what really goes through his mind. Just so you guys know, I am always the one to take Flip for his shots. Not that Jeff wouldn't but I stay at home so of course it falls to me. Last August they had to give him 4 shots and he remembers this like it was yesterday. It was horrible for him!!
I have had several obgyn appointments the last two weeks which Flip has not been able to go to (for reasons you all know.) He has been staying with a friend of mine that he calls Miss Melody. Next week I have to go back to get an injection which Flip calls a 'pinch.' So here it is:

"Flip, guess what?" I say.

"What Mom?"

"Next week you get to go to the doctor with Mommy. I am only going to be there for a few minutes and you get to go with me!"

"No thanks, I will stay with Miss Melody."

"But Flip all I have to do is get a shot and there is no reason for you to stay with her when it will only take a few minutes."

"No, I will go play with Miss Melody. Mom what's a shot?"

" You know baby, a pinch."

"Oh really?! Momma I wanna go with YOU!!"

I thought about all this for a few minutes and was confused with the excitement about my 'pinch' when it hit me, Flip was excited that it was finally my turn to get a 'pinch' and not his. He just wants to be there for my pay back for all the pinches I have to take him to get!

A Prayer....

Flip has been sick for the last 2 days and he has prayed a lot for God to make his fever go away. I should have posted this story before now but this is the first time I have thought about it since we have been back from visiting family over the holidays. All the praying he has done made me think of this again and gave me a giggle through all this sickness that he has been dealing with.

One evening, while we were away for Christmas, Flip was acting up pretty bad. You know how it is around family, the kids get away with a lot and therefore act up. It wasn't just Flip back talking that was getting him in trouble. He was jumping around on furniture and running through the house like a mad man. Jeff had told Flipper several times "you better stop before you get into BIG trouble." Flip was being hard headed and kept going. After about ten minutes of Jeff and Flip going back and fourth Jeff finally said "Flip you are going to get a spanking." Flip stopped on a dime bowed his head and prayed
Dear Lord,
Please help me be good so Dad will not spank me.
Praise the Lord!!!
Needless to say everyone busted out into laughter and Flip of course did not get into trouble anymore that night.

A wonderful Christmas

So it has been awhile since I have posted on here but with the health issues I have had and the holidays it has been very busy around here. All in all we had a wonderful Christmas. Santa brought Flip everything he wanted and he received lots of goodies from friends and family. For those of you who do not know we also got a puppy for Christmas. His name is Max and he is a boxer. He is very cute and sweet. He is growing very fast and I am hoping he'll be my running mate in a few weeks!! Our older dog Alex is not too happy with Max but hopefully he will come around.

Jeff, Flip & I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas this year. We also hope you all enjoy the New Year!! We are planning to stay in, have friends over & eat lots of good food!! Everyone be safe and take care.....HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I Got What I Deserved!

I guess I finally got what I deserved. Jeff (who by the way is 5 years older than me) has had back problems ever since we have been married. I always pick on him and tell him "your an old man," "it can't be that bad." He always takes it well when I pick on him but at the same time he always says "one day Missy, it will happen to you and you will see." Jeff and I have this relationship where we pick on each other a lot. Its are way of being fun and loving at the same time (yes we have issues.) Anyway, I have been doing a lot of lifting and let's face it Flip is over half my size already so when I pick him up its like picking up over five 10lb bags of potatoes!! Well the other day I was leaning over and sneezed and to my surprise I felt a horrible pain in my lower back. I have been on a heating pad ever since praying for the pain to go away. Jeff (even though he has been very helpful through this) has enjoyed picking on me. He has said "all this from a sneeze? Wow baby you are getting old!!" I had to apologize for all these years that I made fun of him!! This morning I am feeling better and I just figured I needed to apologize to Jeff publicly so here it is baby:

I am sorry for making fun of you all these years! Thank you for taking care of me through this!

Decorating the Christmas Trees

Sunday we decorated our house for Christmas. Yes its a bit early (even for me) but Flip was ready to do it and we had the time. For those of you who know me well you know that I am very picky about my Christmas tree and decorations. When Flip was a year old I decided it was time to buy him his own tree so he would not care for mine. Just to let all of you know I have been collecting the ornaments on my tree for years. I have a lot of money and work in my tree! So Sunday when we decorated his tree he thought it was great!! He had the colored lights and fun kiddie ornaments, mine has white lights and glass ornaments. I figured this was good. He will be so tired from his tree he will not care about mine (his tree is 6 feet tall so it was a lot for him.) We finished his and I started mine. Jeff thought he'd help me by getting Flip to help him cook dinner (no matter what Dad is doing Flip wants to help cause Dad is the best.) HAHA!! The joke was on me. Flip didn't care to help Dad he wanted to help Mom. So holding my breathe I let him help me a bit but I had to catch myself many times from getting on to him. I probably got on to him more than I should have. It is suppose to be fun, right? Anyway, after a long evening of having "too much help" we put Flip to bed and went to bed ourselves. On Monday I found myself starring at "MY" tree wondering if I should rearrange the ornaments or not. Well after 2 hours of studying the tree I could not help myself. I moved the ornaments all around making "MY" tree mine again. This year Flip did not noticed when he got up from his nap but I am afraid that next year I will have to leave it however Flip man wants it.

Flip had a great time trick-o-treating!! We all dressed up (including our neighbor) and took Flip out. I am sure all the other families trick-o-treating wondered why it took 3 dressed up adults to take 1 four year old out....well, all I can say is "WE ARE JUST BIG KIDS TOO!!!"

Flip is already on to the next thing. While I was getting him ready for bed Friday night (taking is costume off and all that jazz) he asked me "Mom, can we put up our Christmas tree now?" I normally try to wait till after Thanksgiving but all it will take is one more "Mommy please let's put up our tree" and I will be pulling out all the Christmas stuff!! I know I am a sucker!!
